There are so many wonderful things to say about Mariana jewelry, a line we have carried for a number of years. Do we start with the quality? Do we start with the sheer beauty of every piece? I love the jewelry so much, I feel tongue-tied just trying to write this blog! My husband bought me a red collection this past Christmas and it’s fantastic. If you aren’t familiar with Mariana, then let me formally introduce you. Mariana jewelry, named after the designer, was started in 1997. For over 20 years, Mariana has fashioned jewelry that is absolutely stunning. Her creative ability to use beautiful Swarovski crystal, some that are new and some that are over 100 years old, with a mixture of unexpected materials are simply amazing. As a finishing touch to all of her wonderful inspirations, they are plated in silver or gold (and are nickel -free with the exception of the yellow gold finish). Now (enter drum roll please) they have black plating. Talk about a whole new look, and I’m pretty obsessed with it.
My first encounter with Mariana was at our location in Jefferson City, MO. My mother-in-law, Jera, helped me choose my first set. Even though that was almost 8 years ago it still looks brand new. The colors are breath-taking. Deep jewel tones of green, orange, fuchsia and turquoise are quite the combination. My favorite pieces are pictured. They are two bracelets I wear together that are so different in size and style, yet compliment each other so perfectly. After that, I was hooked. Now I have several collections, in which I can play dress up in or at least feel like it now that I’m a grown adult.
I asked Jera why she loves Mariana so much. I mean, we have a had a huge case bursting at the seams for quite a while now so I KNOW she loves it. Her biggest reason was the color. The colors are so striking, you can almost get lost in them. It’s that moment when you realize you have been looking at a piece of jewelry for longer than the normal time and it gets a little awkward. But hey, how can you stop looking when there is so much detail! The second reason she loves it is because she gets compliments no matter what she is wearing. If she is completely decked out, someone notices. If she just has on a bracelet, someone notices. It’s fun to share something beautiful with others! She said that’s why she wears it on her days off. I laughed out loud because I can’t remember the last time when she took a day off. Ohhh… busy, Jera!
After selling Mariana jewelry at Good and Perfect Gifts for several years now, we have noticed our top sellers. First, the overall favorite is the Guardian Angel collection. Most of our customers get these as gifts. The inspiration for this design makes them special. The Mariana bracelets are the second piece that we have noticed sells quite a bit. I believe it’s because they are easy to wear, and they look great with anything. You can dress them up or you can dress them down. The best part is that you can layer those babies up! We have customers that put three big ones on like it’s no big deal to be dripping in jewel candy. For people like me, who like the simpler side of things, you can layer a few small ones and still feel like it’s not overkill for your personality.
