The Brighton brand was founded by Jerry and Terri Kohl, who envisioned a different kind of company that would be built from the heart - focused on treating their customers and employees the way they love to be treated. They launched Brighton in 1991 with a single collection of belts. Over the years, it has evolved into an extensive line of stylish products that accessorize women from head to toe. You'll find their products at over 180 Brighton Collectible stores and in over 4,000 fine specialty boutiques or online.
Our company prides itself on the "Brighton Difference," which is rooted in the belief that the difference is in the details. Brighton is one of the few design houses where their own designers sketch each creation by hand and then follow the product from concept to fruition. It's a traditional process that has been practiced for centuries - yet the accessories themselves are always fashion-relevant and timeless works of art.
Brighton believe so strongly in the quality of their products that they offer a warranty against workmanship and structural defects on everything from their registered leather handbags to their jewelry and accessories. Brighton also offer cleaning, conditioning and repair services.
The Brighton Promise
Similar to the handbags, their jewelry includes a 1-year warranty against workmanship and structural defects, ensuring that when you purchase jewelry from Brighton, you know you are getting excellent quality.
Recognizing that jewelry is more than just jewelry, often carrying sentimental value for the wearer, they take extra care to return it to its original appearance. And if an item is still under warranty but they are unable to repair it, they will replace it!
Brighton jewelry is created through a multi-step process that begins with a designer's hand sketch. Each piece is cast in solid brass or zinc alloy and is plated in pure silver. Since silver has a natural tendency to tarnish (oxidize) and scratch, we add a protective layer of lacquer to assist in retarding this natural process.
Brighton earring posts, French wires, and lever backs are composed of sterling silver (925). Clip on earrings are not sterling silver, they are stamped brass with a plating finish.
Brighton does manufacture certain ring styles with sterling silver. These rings will have the stamp of 925 on the inside.
What is great about Brighton jewelry is the protective lacquer finish that can keep tarnishing at bay. All you need to do is wipe down your piece with a dry, 100% cotton cloth to remove any impurities that may have gathered when wearing.
Just a few tips to ensure the lacquer finish remains intact. Please keep your piece away from water, jewelry cleaners, silver cleaners, treated polishing cloths, perfumes, hairspray, lotions, hand-sanitizers and make-up. Any of these items can damage the protective lacquer and cause tarnishing to occur. Have your Brighton piece be the last item you put on in the morning. It is also best to tuck your cherished item away when not wearing.
